What was done was in one of the viewports in the Classic LD2000 tool.
you'd make a circkle in the bottom left box in the viewport using the circkle tool:
Then you'd go to Transform: Stretch X into line.
The shape size of the circkle determined the amplitude of the wave... when you'd rotate the sine wave appearing in the other viewports you'd be able to spin it so that the entire cirkle rotated.. creating a moving sine wave.
Doing it the abstract way is one way how to do it but this is the cleaner more controlled way on how to do it.
