4.0 Legacy stuck at "Creating MIDI"

Installed the 4.0 "Legacy" version that was just released, and I can't get past the "Creating MIDI" line in the startup screen. Is there a "Safe Mode" startup somehow that could get me past whatever is going on here?

5.0 didn't have this issue, but it does have the connectivity issues for me, so I'm itching to get 4.0 running again. Thanks!

To solve the problem, I recommend sending the log files to support [at] pangolin [dot] com.
The log files are located in the Log subfolder of the Beyond folder and have the log extension
