Key Effect Frame

What is the difference to use in event:
a) Key-Effect} Frame} Trim points
b) Key-Effect} Frame} Visible points

In my opinion, both effects produce the same thing, in that only defined areas of the given lines are output.
However, there must be a functional difference to justify having two options.

One make points black, other remove points. Two very different things.

Thanks -
only in which situations should I choose "trim points" - in which situations should I choose "visible points" (make black points)?
As a result, neither makes points visible (unvisible) - what is the functional difference for the user by creating an animation?

Dear Axel, both do have multiple user cases.
To name few:

Trim points could be used to show just a part of a very big picture, or build up and down pictures simultaneously instead of flickering fade in & out. Trim point will help to keep point number below flickering. Just to name a few.

Visible point lets you draw a picture but keeps scanning frequency constant.
This can look more homogenous and keep picture look constant in camera.

We can talk next days if you are interested in deeper background information.
