I found out that LD2000 can load LDS .pic files which is quite a useful feature for me to import my early LDS artwork into Pangolin 
Unfortunately it seems that only an old PIC-format (probably LDS 2007) is supported, PICs created with LDS 2008 look like spaghetti when opened.
Would it be possible to support the newer format too? That would be great! %)
The attached ZIP-file contains two sample files:
1.PIC can be opened by LD2000
2.PIC is not imported correctly by LD2000
