Scanner malfunctioning

I just wanted to know, in beyond if we keep the scanner size as 100X100 in FB4 Settings i.e. master settings, (not in geometric correction in projection zones), can it damage the scanner? if yes could you please tell me other ways in which scanners can get damaged?

Normal wear and tear. Scanning to fast. To big of a scan angle combined with a scan rate that is to high. There are multiple ways a scanner can fail.
