Are you still distributing old versions of Showtime?

Ever since the 5 digit serial numbers arrived I've had nothing but trouble with clients not being able to open secured shows. Just ran into this again with a client who bought a system this month. Are the install disks for Showtime still going out with versions that don't recognize the 5 digit serial numbers?

Installation DVDs may not contain the very latest version of software. HOWEVER, the very latest version (LD2000 version 5.50) is available for download from the Updates section of our web site here:

I made that discovery a good while back after I first upgraded to 5.5 and then had a client not be able to open my show. It has to do with a change in the security encryption used to secure frames and shows, not the five digit serial numbers. I've made it a habit of just including the 5.5 update file with all show files I send out so the client has it automatically (assuming they install it). That has eliminated a lot of panicked phone calls and emails.
