BPM/Beatsync and cues / timelines

Hi all,

I'm just starting out with a Pangolin FB3/QS and I'm planning of triggering cue's during a DJ livestream, with an Akai APC Mini.

I'm stuck on making a cue bind to the BPM (via Ableton Link). I created a timeline and set the show properties like this:

But when starting this show from the cue, the duration of this cue is the same, regardless whether the System BPM is 100 or 200. But I would have expected that the timeline would take half as long when the BPM is twice as high.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance :)

A timeline show cannot be tied to BPM.
The intention is that you put, for example, a .wav file as an audio track, then place the laser cues on the other timeline tracks.

Ableton Link can be received, but that is for live play. So, for example, using the Virtual Laser Jockey that plays cues.

Thanks for replying @Bob@Pangolin - Not the answer that I hoped but at least it clears some confusion on my side.

I was exploring the timeline functionality because I'm trying to configure my Akai APC to trigger a cue that plays only once and then stops automatically.

With normal cues, I can't find a way to make them stop after a single playback (e.g., after 4 beats). The only workaround is "Flash" mode, but that requires me to keep the button held down, which isn't the desired behavior.

Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Right-click on the cue in the workspace >> cue properties. Then change the start mode. You will only change it for 1 cue. Alternatively, you can edit the effect to play it once. This all depends on the type of effect. BEYOND has more freedom in this area.
