Groovy, I never noticed those settings before. Seems a little odd to me that's its not an actual efx but a property of an efx even though you don't need an effect to use it. Cool stuff.
 
In case of Effect, "zone" options is only a consequence, a "side effect". Main goal is a so called "time shift" or "zone time shift" effect. For making such thing we need to have list of zones. Effect can use zone-information that comes with the frame, but also can redefine zone information. After adding redefine option, to add a chase, flash and a couple of other opionts was a simple task.
