Just wondering if its possible to convert 3ds files to b3d for use in beyond? Or even import 3ds files somehow into Beyond 3D

BEYOND supports importing the generic 3D file format .FBX. If you have a .FBX file you should be able to importing from the "File" menu in B3D.

thanks Aaron, i tried to convert the 3ds file to FBX and import it into beyond with Autodesk, but it seems to be some problem, probably with the file.
CPU hits 100% and i have to kill it.
