    Dear Bill,
We're using a blue filter over our monitor to dim the light comming from the screen during show.
Would it be possible to insert a button in the player to dim the screen brightness ?
I tried a smaal programm like dimscreen, but it would be much nicer if there was a button to click on when starting the show.
Maybe an option / good idea ?
I don't know if there are more laserists who would like to have this feature.

Some people ask for this. Every time we talk about it among the developers at Pangolin, we're always puzzled by it. Sure, we can put something in our software to dim it, but what about every single other application? It seems to us that sooner or later, something will be displayed on your computer that is "not our software", and it will be at the full brightness.

Really all of this seems very silly to us. We try to think bigger and more thoroughly than other people in the world. What you need is a more "global" brightness control, or application that will dim ALL programs, not only ours.

Up until now, we at Pangolin have not put forth our time working on this because it is a global problem (not just a problem facing laserists) and we tend to want to concentrate our time working on only those problems that are related directly to lasers.

On our programming team, Valery Furmanov got curious about this. He mocked up a simple program that will dim all Windows. It seems to work and he is refining it right now.

We'll let you know when we have something ready for release. But once we do, it will be usable not only for our application, but for all applicaitons.

Yes, we have the program finished and it is TOTALLY COOL!!

We have decided to make a dedicated web site about this where you can download it. You can find it at: http://www.pangobright.com.
