Midi Control for Universe buttons and sliders?

I'm sure I've done this before, but I can't seem to recall how to assign universe buttons and sliders to midi control. I'm assuming it's with the identifiers in pangoscript somehow? But I can't seem to figure it out. It's possible, right?

You could try "waitformidi", but Universe and Midi are both input methods which cannot communicate wtih each other in the sense of mapping.

That's what I was thinking. Now that I recall, I've never been able to get this to work. I came across this video again, and I'm really wondering how this was accomplished.

Hello, Bob. I would like to know about pangoscript. What language is it based on? And regarding some of the operations and functions like "intstr," "abs," "int," and "frac," I'm not clear on their purpose. Thank you very much.
