    Hi All,
As rightly guessed, I’m new to this forum.., though been a silent spectator!
I’m a bit of novice to the Laser fraternity & would appreciate some professional help..
Have an inquiry – While blocking a laser beam a musical instrument should play.
The instrument can be any several musical instrument & not just one.
1st I would like to know if this is possible ? ( I guess it is )
2nd If yes then how do I go doing it – what software & what laser?
Will really appreciate any inputs from veteran’s
    Thanks for all the help:)

    Hi Kamakajee,

    Welcome on this forum ;)

Yes, it is possible. Here you can see such a system: Video

I don't really know what kind of software is / was used. But I know MIDI can be used to activate 'music parts' with any laser beam.

There are complete systems for using it, called LaserHarp. I don't know were you come from, but in the Netherlands is a dealer from Kvant. He also sells the LaserHarp (you will need a projector + the laserharp)
If you're interested, send a PM. i will send you a link to him.

I have used light sensors to pick light reflection from the hand that blocked laser beams
You can see a show here: http://www.showdesign.co.il/page.aspx?id=8&catid=7
The light sensors on a n/o mode closed a circuit that was connected to a toy keyboard
That way I saved the need of a midi & PC
I also used FB3 to run the beams just to turn on the electricity and you can play
I used the same sensors for a Laser Maze http://www.showdesign.co.il/page.aspx?id=12&catid=7
Here is a link for a laser harp system that can fit needs: http://vimeo.com/24720726

If I were you I would buy the Laser Harp system that you see on the link to Vimeo
Its cheaper faster and you get midi

The Laser Graffiti is a laser pointer and a video projector
There is no laser software or laser projector involved.
The idea is the same as the others that you see in the internet.
    My software has few advantages:
You can work with 3 color lasers simultaneously
You can tell each laser color to draw in any color
You can even draw in black so you can erase to correct your drawing
And you can change the thickness of your line

I am using a video camera with BNC connector that way the camera and the video projector can be far away from the computer

If your are interested in that please send me mail to [email protected]
