I don't own any of the Pangolin hardware/software but I'm thinking of purchasing the LD2000 Installation CD / Tutorial DVD set just so I can learn how to use it. Am I allowed to purchase the set?

Most certainly you could purchase our installation DVD set which also includes the Tutorial DVD. The cost is $75, although of course the software portion won't be of much good to you.
However a better way to go will be to simply watch the most relevant tutorial DVD chapters online, which you can see here:
