QM32 problems

Hi all,

We still have some older boards which we use. They are qm32. I know that we should trade/upgrade them, but that will be done this year. The board has worked perfectly but now suddenly gives a lot of problems. I get FIFO error messages. Is the input buffer damaged? This could be the problem someone told me. Any ideas/hints. We already checked if there where any loose ic's on the board and that is not the problem.

With regards,

Hello Per,

The problems that you are mentioning may be caused by either dirty gold fingers on the board, where it plugs into the ISA connector, or perhaps some memory problems. I think you should try to clean the gold fingers, first with a pencil eraser, and then with alcohol, and give that a try. If that does not fix the problem, I recommend that you return the board to Pangolin for repair. For the problem you are mentioning, the repair charge is typically $150 to $200, plus shipping. If you need to send us the board, please follow the directions on this web page:

Best regards,

William Benner
